READ MORE: Lily Allen – ‘West End Girl’ review: a vicious, vulnerable and victorious comeback The singer began the tour in Glasgow on Monday (March 2), marking her first public show in seven years. The set comprised two acts: the first half filled with earlier favourites, and the second seeing her play her acclaimed, BRIT-nominated 2025 album in full. Advertisement That album was recorded in 10 days, and followed the dissolution of her marriage to Stranger Things’ David Harbour, following claims of his infidelity. Allen performed to a backing track instead of having a live band in Glasgow, and appeared on a play-style set with various props. On ‘Pussy Palace’, she sang from a bed and discovered the “shoebox full of handwritten letters, from brokenhearted women wishing you could have been better” that is referenced in the lyrics. She then found a Duane Reade bag containing sex toys, butt plugs and lube. Then, when she played ‘4chan Stan’ immediately after, she performed wearing blue lace bodysuit and burgundy hot pants, before pulling a large piece of cloth from under a bed, which was printed with giant receipts. The prop nods to the lyrics in the song, which see Allen sing about how Harbour allegedly bought an expensive handbag for another woman when she was out of town. Recommended “You bought her a handbag / It wasn’t cheap / I was in London / Probably asleep,” she sang, wrapping the cloth around her like a dress during the performance. She then walked over to a refrigerator on the side of the stage and pulled out another piece of long cloth, printed with the song’s lyrics, and wrapped it around her head as she launched into the chorus. Lily Allen performs West End Girl. One of the most incredible and moving stage shows I’ve ever seen. So glad she decided to open the tour in Glasgow. Advertisement The tour continued in Liverpool on Tuesday (March 3) ahead of further dates in Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham, Cambridge, Bristol, Cardiff and London. After the intimate run of shows is done, Allen will head out on a UK and Ireland arena tour to perform ‘West End Girl’, marking the biggest headline trek of her career. She has also been confirmed as the final headliner for Boardmasters 2026, will be topping the bill at London’s Mighty Hoopla and more. Find any remaining tickets here. ‘West End Girl’ landed at Number 13 on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2025 list, while the track ‘Pussy Palace’ bagged the Number 21 spot in our 50 best songs of the year feature. It was nominated for three awards at last weekend’s BRITs, and since it came out, Allen has insisted that it is “not a cruel album”, saying she does not “need revenge”. She also explained that making the record had been “an act of desperation”, and called the collection “a mixture of fact and fiction”. Since the split with Harbour, she has confirmed that she is in a relationship with Sigmund Freud’s great-great-grandson, Jonah Freud. David Harbour has also spoken about the controversy, and said that he would “change either everything or nothing” about life.
